The (Not) Bad

Wirtz to Liverpool! German newspapers reported this week that Florian Wirtz and his family flew to Liverpool to meet Arne Slot.

The 22 year-old is reported to be convinced with the Reds and accordingly informed fellow suitors Bayern Munich he did not intend to sign for them.

The Ugly

Liverpool’s performance against Crystal Palace yesterday. The Reds went a goal down in the first period and rarely looked as if they would equalise.

Their visitors from south London were intent on spoiling the Anfield parade and looked to be successful in their quest when Ryan Gravenberch was shown a red card for bringing down Palace attacker Daichi Kamada when he was through on goal.

Liverpool, to be fair did show some metal, with Arne Slot making brave tactical substitutions in taking off Ibu Konate and Luis Diaz and replacing them with Nuñez and Diogo Jota in an attempt to rescue the game and end their miserable run of form since securing no. 20

Mo Salah was on hand to fire home his 47th league goal of the season and at the same time giving the Reds a share of the spoils.
